Join Laura Kovarik, President of the Illinois State Genealogical Society, to learn how to interview family members to create a rich, detailed portrait of relatives that cannot be found in databases.
Let’s rethink how the genealogy interview is conducted. Names and dates are an important part of genealogical research. However, to create context for our ancestors, we need more information. Interviewing family members allows genealogists to create a rich, detailed portrait of relatives that cannot be found in documents or online databases. This program is aimed at presenting ideas to expand the interview process and access memories that can add details to our ancestors’ lives.
