Thank you for the incredible response to our Solar Eclipse Viewing Party! Registration is completely full at this time!
Join us for a viewing party for the August 21st solar eclipse!
In the Chicago area, 85% of the Sun will be covered by the Moon, and we'll be watching! We'll provide safe viewing instructions, make your own pinhole projector for viewing the eclipse, and then we'll head outside at the peak time to watch the eclipse's progress (weather permitting). All attendees will receive one free pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses, courtesy of Star_Net and the Moore Foundation, while supplies last. We'll also be able to view the eclipse's progress with our telescope & solar filter, donated by the Fox Valley Astronomical Society!
In the case of inclement weather, we will view the broadcast via NASA's online streaming video. For all ages. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a parent to attend. Registration recommended.
This branch shares the Eola Community Center buiding with the Fox Valley Park District. It offers a quiet reading room with a fireplace, study rooms and a family computer lab. The Eola Road Branch has public meeting rooms that may be used for community programs.
