The Bookmobile serves all of Aurora, including schools, neighborhoods, parks, and various other community locations. The Bookmobile has a large collection of books in both English and Spanish for adults, teens, and children, comprised of popular fiction, high interest non-fiction, graphic novels, magazines, audio books, and DVDs. We also carry a collection of large print books for adults. The Bookmobile has scheduled stops Monday - Saturday, approximately 9 am – 4 pm. To view the current Bookmobile schedule, click here.
The Bookmobile is available for special event appearances including, but not limited to, parades, citywide festivals, school celebrations, block parties, and other community events. At these special events, Bookmobile staff are proud to represent and promote library services, literacy, and the love of reading. Please contact Sheri Roberts for more information.
Outreach Services staff bring books, DVDs, audio books, and other library items to various senior living facilities and area preschools. Staff provide books for residents to check out in the common area and checkout items to individual residents or teachers. This is a scheduled weekly service in which customers can check out books and DVDs, as well as register for library cards, request specific items, retrieve holds, and participate in the Summer Reading Challenge. To inquire about Lobby Stop Service, please contact Laura Gartman.
Traveling Storytime Service is conducted at area preschools, Panera Bread Café, various other sites, and by request. Please contact Sheri Roberts for more information.
We bring stories, songs, finger plays, and puppets to preschool children for 30 minute storytimes. During the summer months, Stories in the Parks is offered at Bookmobile stop park locations. We also offer Stories at the Zoo at Phillips Park Zoo.
