Need help completing the FAFSA or Alternative Application for financial aid? We can help! Please create a Federal Student Aid account in advance and bring relevant financial information.
During this workshop, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will answer students' questions about how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid (Alternative Application), intended for qualifying undocumented and transgender students. These forms are used by students to apply for financial aid, such as the Federal Pell Grant and/or the Illinois Monetary Award Program (MAP). Many colleges also use these forms to consider students for awards of institutional money. Individuals should create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) account in advance and bring their FSA ID and relevant financial information, including income and assets, to the workshop.

The FSA ID is also used to retrieve tax and income information via the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. Please note that the FSA ID is not used with the Alternative Application.
