decorationWhat is Explore More Illinois?

Explore More Illinois is a free service provided by your library that provides instant online access to free and discounted tickets to museums, science centers, sporting events, zoos, park districts, theatres, and other fun and local cultural venues.

How do I get a pass?

Log in with your library card credentials and browse for passes by date or attractions. If you do not know your PIN or password, or if you have problems logging into Explore More Illinois, please contact your home library. Make your reservation and print or download your pass shortly before your visit. You can have three active reservations per library card. Please cancel your reservation(s) if unable to attend, otherwise the reservation will count as being used. Remember that once you print or download your pass you cannot cancel your reservation.

Explore More Illinois users must be 18 years or older. Attractions may require a photo ID in addition to the reservation.

Museum Adventure Pass

Museum Adventure Pass is a free service provided by the Aurora Public Library District that provides access to free and discounted tickets.

How do I get a pass?

  • Check out a Museum Adventure Pass from your Library in person.
  • Check current pass availability at APLD.  If passes are available, visit your nearest APLD library where staff will be able to issue passes to you.
  • Be certain to bring your library card for identification.

Ravinia's Words & Music Summer Concert Series

decorationWhat is Ravinia's Words & Music Summer Concert Series?

APLD is partnering with the Ravinia Festival to offer the Words and Music Program again in 2024. This program offers free lawn admission tickets to select music concerts this summer at Ravinia. 


In partnership with Metra, all trains on the Union Pacific North Line will honor Ravinia tickets as train fares; patrons can show their dated concert e-ticket for a free train ride to and from the park on concert days. 

How do I get a ticket?

  • Tickets will be available at all brick-and-mortar Aurora Public Library District locations while supplies last. 

    Please note:
    • Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

    • Tickets may only be used on the evening of the performance, may not be exchanged, and cannot be sold.

    • Limit 2 concerts per family.
