It's Mental Health Awareness Month, and this movie has it all- comedy, drama, and romance. It starts when a clinically-depressed teenager checks himself into a mental hospital... (Rated PG-13).
Movie Summary:
Craig, a high-school junior in the gifted program, is infatuated with his best friend's girlfriend. When he realizes he's suicidal, he checks himself into the psychiatric ward of a hospital, thinking they'll do an observation, help him, and send him home in time for school the next day. Once in, however, he finds he must stay for a week and the juvenile ward is being renovated, so he's in with adults as well as a few youths. While there, he makes friends with an adult patient, flirts with a cute girl, and tries to keep his friends from finding out where he is. This movie has comedy, drama and romance.
Starring Keir Gilchrist, Emma Roberts, and Zach Galifianakis. Directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden.
Based on the book It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini.
