Historic Aurora Wall Decor

Create your own unique wall decor using historic Aurora photographs from APLD's collection! Participants will transfer a photo to a wooden plaque and may also tour our Community History Center.

Come celebrate our shared history and flex your crafting muscles! We'll use provided images from our Historic Photograph Collection to create unique wall decor. With guidance from staff, you'll transfer your chosen photo to a wooden plaque for a one-of-kind piece of art.

Previously only available to view in our Local History Room, this fascinating collection is now freely available online through Illinois Digital Archives! Bring a piece of Aurora history home for an original decor item, or give one to a friend as an awesome gift!

This is a two-part program. Participants must attend both dates: Wednesday, May 8 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m.

Tours of the Community History Center with our Genealogy & Community History Librarian are included.
