Learn how to provide meaningful emotional support, offer practical assistance, and be a source of comfort during difficult times with Kara Olimene, therapist at Olimene Counseling Services.
This program is designed to help participants provide support for friends who are going through the challenging journey of having cancer. This will be a safe space for participants to share feelings, ask questions, and seek guidance on how to best support your friend during this difficult time.
Participants will gain access to resources including informational guides, support groups, and more.
By attending a program on supporting friends with cancer, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those battling this disease. This program will also equip attendees with communication skills to navigate sensitive conversations with their friends, helping them feel heard and supported.
This program will be facilitated by Kara Olimene, a therapist at Olimene Counseling Services. Her areas of specialty include eating disorders, self injury, and trauma. Her approach to therapy involves focusing on symptom relief and stabilization of mood. Olimene has been doing outpatient therapy for over 12 years.

This branch shares the Eola Community Center buiding with the Fox Valley Park District. It offers a quiet reading room with a fireplace, study rooms and a family computer lab. The Eola Road Branch has public meeting rooms that may be used for community programs.
