Interested in a new outdoor hobby? Illinois Department of Natural Resources biologist Frank Sladek will explain how to get a fishing license, pick a location, identify the fish you reel in, and more!

Hear what the IDNR does to keep our ponds and rivers stocked with native fish, how to bait and cast a fishing line, and how you can safely enjoy local waterways, including our very own Fox River. Don't forget that the Aurora Public Library District has fishing poles available for checkout as part of our Library of Things

Join us in person or click here to join virtually via Zoom.

Throughout 2026, APLD will offer a series of programming centered on the Fox River. We’ll consider environmental issues, use the Fox as artistic inspiration, gather for recreational activities, and much more. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate, investigate, and connect with our river and the places we share.
