Learn About Down Payment Assistance for First Time Homebuyers
Thinking about buying a home but concerned about the down payment? Join The Neighbor Project, the City of Aurora, and the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) for an informational session about programs that can help make homeownership more affordable.
The Neighbor Project will also share how we support future homebuyers through homebuyer education, the counseling process, and the certificate required to access many down payment assistance programs.
During this session, attendees will learn about the Choose Aurora program, which may offer up to $27,000 in down payment assistance for eligible homebuyers purchasing in Aurora, and the IHDAccess Home program, which can provide up to $15,000 in assistance for down payment and closing costs.
We will explain how these programs work, who may qualify, and what steps you can take to start preparing for homeownership.
There will be time for questions and information on how to connect with trusted housing counseling and lending resources.
This event is open to anyone interested in learning more about buying a home in Aurora and exploring available financial assistance programs.
