Presenter's Biography:

Ricardo "Ricky" Castro is the 2017 Illinois Teacher of the Year, a nationally recognized educator, and the son of immigrant parents. Growing up in Chicago, Ricky faced challenges that could have led him down a very different path. Instead, the guidance of caring adults and strong family support helped him discover his potential and transform his future.

As a teacher and mentor, Ricky has dedicated his career to helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and leadership skills. In this parenting session, he shares practical strategies for strengthening communication with children, building trust, setting high expectations, and fostering positive relationships at home. Through personal stories and real-life experiences, Ricky will inspire parents to recognize the powerful influence they have in shaping their children's future and helping them become successful, responsible leaders in today's world.
