Professor Gary Midkiff will provide suggestions and share examples for how you can effectively engage with political news as we approach the 2020 general election.
It takes hard work to be a good citizen in a democratic republic. Part of that work includes consuming a balanced diet of political news from a variety of trusted sources while avoiding environments like echo chambers and filter bubbles, in which a person only encounters beliefs or opinions that coincide with their own. Another part of that work is discussing political news in a way that promotes communication and understanding rather than causing conflict and polarization.
