Want to start a business? You need to create a business plan! Join us to learn how to develop a realistic plan to help you launch and run your business successfully.

Your business plan is the first step toward moving into business ownership; however, the idea of writing one can be overwhelming. Even knowing where to start can be difficult! Many people tend to overthink their business plan, causing stress and lack of action in taking the first step. In this workshop, Harriet Parker, Manager of the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Waubonsee, will explain how to stay focused while you develop a realistic plan to launch and grow your business.

Harriet will also explore:

  • The purpose of writing a business plan and why you need one
  • The elements of a successful business plan – what information to include and what to leave out
  • Business plan templates – where to find them and how to choose the one that is the best match for you and your business
  • Where to find examples of business plans
