What is a Seed Swap? It's like a potluck, but with seeds - great for both avid and aspiring gardeners. Bring seeds to share if you have them, and go home with new seeds to try!
They can be seeds you gathered last season or purchased seeds. Heirloom seeds are especially welcome. Our seed swap takes place on January 28, National Seed Swap Day. It gives participants time to start seeds indoors before planting time in the spring. This event also gives you a great chance to talk to other area gardeners, and master gardeners from the University of Illinois Extension Service will be here to answer questions and provide expert help.
We'll meet in the Large Meeting Room at Eola. The Seed Swap will also take place at our Santori and West Branch locations--same date and time!
¿Qué es un intercambio de semillas? Es como una comida compartida, pero con semillas, excelente tanto para los jardineros ávidos como para los aspirantes. ¡Traiga semillas para compartir con otros y lleve a casa nuevas semillas para probar!
Pueden ser semillas que recolectó la temporada pasada o semillas compradas. Las semillas de reliquia son especialmente bienvenidas. Nuestro intercambio de semillas se lleva a cabo el 28 de enero, Día Nacional del Intercambio de Semillas. Les da a los participantes tiempo para sembrar semillas en el interior antes de plantar en la primavera. This branch shares the Eola Community Center buiding with the Fox Valley Park District. It offers a quiet reading room with a fireplace, study rooms and a family computer lab. The Eola Road Branch has public meeting rooms that may be used for community programs.
