First Friday: For the Love of Dance

Join us for a celebration of dance- We'll enjoy a variety of dance performances from Ayodele Drum & Dance and AKA Dance, have a snack, make a ribbon wand, and more!

Our schedule:

6 - 8 p.m.

• Make-Your-Own-Ribbon Wand craft
• Light refreshments

6:15 - 7 p.m.

• A variety of performances from Aurora-based AKA Dance, including jazz, lyrical, and hip hop duos and trios

7:15 - 7:45 p.m.

• A performance by Chicago-based Ayodele Drum & Dance, a West African dance and live drum experience. Ayodele Drum and Dance was founded in 2009 and exists to foster community from a feminine perspective through the study and performance of diasporic African drum and dance. Ayodele, a Yoruba word meaning “Joy in the home", is now a diverse sister-circle of performing artists committed to studying and performing drum and dance as a healing element.
