Enjoy a special performance by the A-Town Poetics and step up to our open mic. We'll also have poetry-related activities, crafts, and more for all ages.

Come to the Library on First Friday to enjoy:

  • blackout poetry
  • magnetic poetry
  • a take a poem, leave a poem station
  • banana chips (with or without chocolate chips), while supplies last
  • our History of the Library Exhibit 

Performances:

6:15 - 7 p.m. Live poetry readings by A-Town Poetics, a group that is open to writers of all ages, including anyone who has never written poetry and thinks he/she/they can’t. A-Town Poetics is a group that supports one another artistically, offers positive critiques, and hosts special events. Their mission is to provide a positive supportive environment for local Aurora writers.

7 - 8 p.m. Family-friendly open mic. Sing, dance, rap, play an instrument, recite poetry, or do a little comedy! All ages, talents and abilities welcome. Your talent deserves an audience! Sign in starts at 6 p.m.
