Meet fellow writers and kick off the new Aurora Writers Group! Are you curious about poetry but don't know how to start writing your own? Fermina Ponce, Aurora Deputy Poet Laureate, will help us!
Fermina Ponce is a poet and journalist whose work has been translated into four languages. She was appointed Deputy Poet Laureate of the city of Aurora in 2020. She'll introduce us to the basic vocabulary and concepts of poetry and walk us through exercises to help unleash our creativity.
The Aurora Writers Group will meet once a month at the Eola Road Branch. All are welcome!
Registration will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 9.

This branch shares the Eola Community Center buiding with the Fox Valley Park District. It offers a quiet reading room with a fireplace, study rooms and a family computer lab. The Eola Road Branch has public meeting rooms that may be used for community programs.
