Trauma-informed, self-defense instructor Lindsey Daehnke from Strictly Self-Defense will teach participants basic physical self-defense skills and techniques. All experience levels are welcome.
Self-defense program is designed to be accessible to individuals of all backgrounds and fitness levels, so no matter your experience, we invite you to join us and learn how to defend yourself with confidence.
Instructor Lindsey Daehnke is passionate about empowering our community with the tools they need to stay safe. Attendees will participate in a series of discussions and be introduced to basic physical self-defense skills and techniques. Training will focus on three key areas: Mindset, Skill Set and Planning. Specific topics may include Situational Awareness, Bystander Intervention, Healthy/Unhealthy Relationships, Simple Effective Strikes, How to Escape Common Grabs, and much more.
All topics will be presented at an age-appropriate level for those in attendance. The purpose of the training is to empower the attendees with the life skill of self defense.
All attendees must have a signed electronic waiver on file in order to participate.
Registration will open at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 7.

This branch shares the Eola Community Center buiding with the Fox Valley Park District. It offers a quiet reading room with a fireplace, study rooms and a family computer lab. The Eola Road Branch has public meeting rooms that may be used for community programs.
