Be among the first to explore our newest Community Voices exhibit highlighting Aurora's African American community. Enjoy readings from the exhibit, treats from Ms. Jana's Candy, music, crafts & more!
Our newest Community Voices exhibit showcases the stories of 13 people from Aurora's African American community. At this First Friday event, we'll hear from them, but you'll have opportunities to contribute your voice as well! Collaborate with your community by participating in our Unseen Stories activity and our Hands Together Community Art Project! We'll also be indulging in scrumptious chocolates from Ms. Jana's Candy! Treats and activities are available while supplies last.
What is Community Voices?
Community Voices is a collaboration between the library and the community in which the library provides space for community members to share their individual stories. We center Community Voices exhibits around particular heritages or identities that are meaningful for our community. The mission of Community Voices is to celebrate diverse experiences, foster connections, cultivate empathy, and nurture a sense of belonging at the library.
