6 - 6:15 p.m. - New Bookmobile Update!
6:15 - 8 p.m. Live music from the Rolling Roses Band. (20 minute intermission at 7 p.m.) Rolling Roses Band is a Spanish Versatile Latin Band with a wide range of music. They play salsa, merengue, cha cha, bachata, cumbia, bolero, pop, disco. The band was formed in April 2019. Rolling Roses Band was nominated in 2021 for best Versatile Latin Band in 2021 by Imperio Music Awards. They have performed in many Festivals including "Fiesta Del Sol" in 2019 and 2020, the biggest festival in the Midwest
7 - 7:20 p.m. Costume Contest Winner Announced. It's October, so that means costumes! All guests are welcome and encouraged to come in costume. The first 10 guests to sign up for the competition in person will be entered to win. Sign up starts at 6 p.m. and participants must be present at 7 p.m. for judging in order to participate in the competition.
1st place winner will receive a $20 gift card to Nide Jardin and APLD swag bag
2nd place winner will receive APLD swag bag
3rd place winner will receive APLD thermal cup
6 - 8 p.m.
DIY Paper Bag Piñata. Have fun decorating your own personal piñata pre-filled with yummy treats (while supplies last). Materials and instructions will be provided.
Community Voices Exhibit. The Aurora Public Library District has invited our Hispanic/Latin community to share their stories. The Community Voices exhibit seeks to foster connections in the community this month by highlighting Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibit features participating community members that have claimed their space at the library and in their community by sharing their voice and illustrating what their heritage/identity means to them and how it shows up in their life here in Aurora. This collection of stories and photos, from our community members, will showcase our Hispanic/Latino Community's history, culture and contributions and will be displayed at all library locations. No registration is required.

El registro comienza a las 6 p.m. , debe estar presente a las 7 p.m. para juzgar con el fin de participar en la competencia.
El ganador del 1er lugar recibirá una tarjeta de regalo de $20 para Nide Jardin y una bolsa de regalos de APLD.
El ganador del segundo lugar recibirá una bolsa con regalos de APLD.
El ganador del 3er lugar recibirá una copa térmica APLD.
6 - 8 p. m. Exposición Voces de la Comunidad
El Distrito de Bibliotecas Públicas de Aurora ha invitado a nuestra comunidad hispana/latina a compartir su historia. La exhibición Community Voices busca fomentar las conexiones en la comunidad este mes destacando el Mes de la Herencia Hispana. La exhibición presenta a miembros de la comunidad participantes que han reclamado su espacio en la biblioteca y en su comunidad al compartir su voz e ilustrar lo que su herencia/identidad significa para ellos y cómo se manifiesta en su vida aquí en Aurora. Esta colección de historias y fotografías, de los miembros de nuestra comunidad, mostrará la historia, la cultura y las contribuciones de nuestra comunidad hispana/latina y se exhibirá en todas las bibliotecas.
